His influential family included a grandfather, Thomas Henry Huxley, who coined the word, “Darwinism.” Aldous Huxley’s brother Julian and half-brother Andrew were notable biologists. He was nominated seven times for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Huxley (1894-1963) was born in England, but died in Los Angeles County at the age of 69.
